![]() LastPass is not helping you with privacy here. I have high hopes that bitwarden will get to that maturity point one day. But seeing no tests, 1p documenting their security model and bitwarden not being good enough compared to 1p in UI has me sticking to 1p for now. But after a certain point they are going to need automated testing, especially for something as vital as this.įor me, the lack of open source in 1p has been a sticking point, and I was planning to migrate after the audit. When you're a startup not writing tests can speed you up significantly. I understand why the single founder / engineer of bitwarden doesn't have tests. ![]() They might even have a few QA people AFAIK! That is true, but at least they have code review and multiple people ) I'm just estimating from my experience that after a certain point, most companies start writing automated tests.Īnd if you look at their jobs page, one of the job description points is "Create unit tests for existing code to run faster and more reliably.": ![]() Or something else, but bitwarden has been good to me and lastpass, well, hasn't, to put it politely :) If you're thinking about lastpass, save yourself the trouble and try bitwarden first. There's also the hope-springs-eternal factor of bitwarden giving me the option to host the sensitive stuff myself once I get off my butt and set up that server I've been meaning to for a while now. Better, actually: it is the first time I have done an export/import and had the resulting data immediately work better in the second app. Autofill fails less, the "copy password" menu works, the mobile experience isn't intentionally broken to sell an app, and export->import went without a hitch. Lastpass has been going downhill with every acquisition and had gotten to the point where autofill failed on the majority of sites and the "copy password" menu item disappeared, bringing clicks-to-login from 1 to ~10.Ī few weeks ago I saw bitwarden finish their third party security audit and took the opportunity to jump. Which requires a ton of overhead and - sure enough - sooner or later they get hacked because by then the amount of data they hold on to is more valuable than their security could reasonably be expected to defend. Healthcare, HOA, insurance, payroll etc., every bloody two bit player requires you to log-in to their oh-so-secure service rather than that they send you your stuff. So that's one userid/password combo per business relationship or service that you use privately. Then that disappeared and now you have to create an account on some portal so that you can download your invoice. Then that disappeared and you got your invoices mailed via email. One new development is that you used to be able to get your invoices mailed via snail mail. Bitrot will set in and sooner or later there will be a breach. Sooner or later those systems will be legacy and then maintaining them will be a pain. This is why I hate companies that force you to sign up to gain access to content.

![]() In case anyone hasn’t taken the plunge, it is a great app for doing any sort of customization to your mac. There are a number of applications that we recommend here at Asian Efficiency that make the Mac an excellent platform from a productivity perspective. Keyboard Maestro can read an apps menus so with a one key macro I can tell my apps to open as I want them, resize windows, and so much more. Sometimes an app wont open as I think it should with certain conditions or windows ready when I open it. It takes a little understanding to figure out a solution at times, but the forums on KeyboardMaestro have always weighed-in quickly with solutions to my questions. With a Swiss Army knife you don't get a locking blade and, it’s a bit light weight for real day to day utility in a pocket knife. It is a virtual Swiss Army knife for doing just about anything you want on a Mac. ![]() It can do so many things - including run all your applescripts. I mention this here because the reasons I sometimes am drawn to seeking a solution for something is because I want my mac to behave in a way that I want it to behave and not so much because I think like a programmer. Javascript s also very useful and easier on my brain to understand than AppleScript. I love what it does, but I hate trying to understand it’s logic. I have dabbled in AppleScript and love it - hate it. We all have our preferences about software we like, but KeyboardMaestro just works, works well, and is advanced and complex and at the same time, is very approachable. KeyboardMaestro is maybe the one app that I could not do without. I look forward to enabling many more of the features in KM as I find the need. There is a large user support community, and the developer has responded to my email queries promptly. I find that actions execute immediately on my old 2013 MacBook Pro. This feature alone has saved me at least an hour in my first month of use. I often have to copy several segments of text or numbers from a web page), then paste them in sequence into another document rather than copy > paste each item separately. One of the most useful features I use in Keyboard Maestro is the Clipboard History – it allows you to copy numerous pieces of content from one source (e.g. There are many pre-made actions you can select from that can be enabled in a variety of ways. keys) on my Mac to launch/make active apps, insert dates, signatures and some other text strings I commonly have to type – like my email address. I found it has a very intuitive user interface, and I was able to easily set various keys (I used the Function F1, F2, etc. I’ve used Keyboard Maestro v.9.2 for about a month. Hopefully remove the alert when switching to an enabled keyboard layout. ![]()
Starting a dialogue with any human character will pull up a zoomed-in, charming illustration of their features, and these are simultaneously cute and weird. What truly seals the deal are the somewhat grotesque, yet immensely charming character portraits found throughout the game. A lack of ambition might be the only critique to give the game, but its art style is hardly unappealing. Most elements are well-telegraphed and easily recognizable, however, so there’s not much to complain about. The environments are also fairly standard, presenting a simple, cartoonish view of a fantasy world. The speed of an enemy’s animations often equates to their threat level, but I’m happy to say that there’s a unique mix of speeds and attack types to be found in the game. There are a number of unique enemy types to be found out in the world, though they mostly seem like variations on the classic RPG tropes, i.e. Though Quest Hunter runs smoothly enough on the Switch, the game is by no means a graphical powerhouse. If you ever feel unequipped to take on a challenge, the answer may simply be stronger equipment or better skills, both of which are easily obtainable at one of the numerous base camps found throughout the game. Even if you defend against an enemy attack, some of their strength can result in chip damage, which is even more severe if you take an unblocked hit. Exploring maps is a challenge in itself, as many will take you through winding corridors in order to test your equipment and preparedness, and keeping a healthy amount of torches on-hand is important. Early on in the game, you’ll have to recover a key item for an NPC and return it to them at their place in a level or gather a specific number of resources, though you’ll eventually be moving from map to map in order to complete grander objectives, such as pilfering dungeons, rescuing maidens, and getting to the bottom of overarching mysteries. While in these maps, you may encounter all sorts of characters and creatures, some of which are friendly, as you attempt to achieve your goal. ![]() Additionally, you can dig any- and everywhere by pressing the r button, which proves useful for a particular facet of gameplay. The remaining face buttons are used for executing assigned skills, which unlock based on level, operate on cooldowns, and become stronger depending on what materials you feed them. Fortunately, you’re not defenseless- armed with a sword and shield, you can use the a button to slash back at your enemies and the zr button to block incoming attacks. Monsters will shy away from the light, but human enemies will track you down in order to kill you mercilessly, causing your inventory to explode into a hundred stacks of materials. These areas are sometimes small, but more often than not, they are wide-open playgrounds teeming with enemies, traps, and plenty of unlit torches, which serve as quicksave points and barriers from most kinds of unintelligent aggression. While completing quests- and really, any sort of quest will do- you’ll need to explore a variety of environments, which can be selected from a large world map with various interconnected routes. Armed with a trusty shovel and a hand-full of dreams, you’ll set out towards getting your bearings straight by accepting the duties and tasks set forth for you by multiple NPCs. In order to get yourself airborne once more, you’ll need to find out who is behind the sun-stealing and figure out your alliances and allegiances in this strange land. The sun has been stolen, and in the ensuing chaos, a lone adventurer’s airship has crash-landed in treacherous territory. The rewards and loots are available for all in the multiplayer mode except in the main story mode, the host has the benefit of the progress.Quest Hunter is a co-operative, top-down Role-Playing Game with a focus on… well, quest hunting. One of the important features of the game is that it is available across platforms and allows cross-platform gameplays. ![]() ![]() The multiplayer feature will allow players to farm faster and get through the quest in a quicker way. These modes are available after the player reaches the level of 5. Players can form a team of 4, both locally or online, to steer through the main story and the PvE clash Arenas. Quests, Materials can be browsed through the inventory options available on the top right corner of the screen. The basic cue of completing quests to obtain rewards is the basic mechanism of the game with exploration through the storyline. With a spade and a shield as initial material, a player explores the unknown land as directed by the Old Man to uncover new materials, gain experience, and unlock a new quest to rise in the story. The tracking feature will display individual stock price changes and related, AI curated news articles for stocks of interest. The curated watchlists could possibly be the forerunner of the vital return of the massively popular portfolio tracking feature that was slashed in 2017. The pre-existing standard lists remain, such as active movers, big gainers, and big losers. ![]() Your watchlist is located under “your stocks” and gives quick access to information on different companies or funds. Fresh design and curated watchlists The mobile and desktop web versions received a fresh new visual design, and service redesign brought new features like stock cards, and sort lists were made customisable so users can create personally curated watchlists. The relaunch attempt was to plug the holes in the service offering. Google Finance’s aim was always to be the finance news hub, with trading support features, for informal players in the share market. The status of Google Finance In 2020, a concerted effort to scratch back market share was attempted in a relaunch of the tool. With the wheels of this finance vehicle removed, the loyal users were forced to go ‘shopping’ for an alternative, and the pole position slipped away quickly. The rebuild had made the platform simpler, which usually bodes well for UX ratings (user experience – your interaction with a brand/service), but inexplicably core, integral reporting was removed. Things started to get shaky, and the loyalty support started to crumble. ![]() In 2017 the engineering and strategy team implemented a rebuild – and in the process, took away parts of the foundation of the service offering. ![]() It handled lists of stocks, transaction information, instant snapshots, and a cash balance so an actual portfolio could be shown. Google Finance justled for pole position in the portfolio tracking space for many years. ![]() The Tango doesn’t use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth but another signal technology called Lightspeed Link that provides exceptional sound quality and allows as many as six Tango headsets to be connected to the audio panel simultaneously. Still, this headset is so comfortable that the extra heft isn’t really noticeable. We love the idea of a wireless headset, but that convenience comes at a price, namely that the Tango, weighing in at 18 ounces, is among the heaviest ANR models we tested. Lightspeed also offers the industry’s longest warranty. Some of the features we like best are the improved ear seals that are designed to hug the curve of the jaw for a better seal, super durable cables built around a Kevlar core and construction of almost all stainless steel and titanium. ![]() With the recently introduced Zulu 3, Lightspeed has created its most comfortable and durable headset yet. Lightspeed introduced its first Zulu-series ANR headset a decade ago and immediately drew attention for what many users came to appreciate as a headset with great ergonomics, excellent audio performance and Bluetooth integration right out of the gate. ![]() One of the cool features of the DC One-X is that it folds up into a size that fits in the palm of your hand when not in use, allowing it to be tucked away into an easy-to-pack carrying case. The DC One-X is David Clark’s newest headset for general aviation pilots, with hybrid electronic noise cancellation that is as good as anything we’ve tested. The company introduced the industry’s first noise-attenuating headset in 1975, and its products have long been recognized among aviators the world over for their pale-green ear domes and exceptional quality. While the battery box is bulky and heavy, the headset itself is light and comfortable.ĭavid Clark is a legendary name in pilot headsets. The Bose headset was quieter, but not by a lot. We put the PFX up against the Bose A20 in a direct comparison. It does this by measuring the “unique auditory landscape” around your ears to optimize noise reduction. PFX stands for Personal Flying Experience, and the technology built into this headset is designed to be customized to your ears, your environment and your preferences. The Lightspeed PFX is the headset that introduced to us the Kevlar-reinforced cord that is now also standard on the Zulu 3 headset. But the comfort (thanks to the A20’s light weight and low clamping force), noise-reduction technology and sound fidelity pioneered by Bose are all superb, making this the headset you probably want to own if money is no object. When you tick the box for optional built-in Bluetooth, though, it’s positioned at the upper reach of the market, so it’s not for everybody. The Bose A20 has been one of our favorite headsets since it hit the market at Oshkosh in 2010, where it became an immediate sensation for its excellent sound quality and unmatched build quality.
